Not sure, I think our guide identified it but I can't remember what it was.
We did an amazing full day safari with Crisscross Adventures. Our drive took us through Addo Elephant Park and over to Schotia private game park. Later in the day I had a harder time keeping track of where we went. Not quite sure how to classify some of the private park animals since they are introduced and fenced.
Male and female forest duikers are about the same size, and both have horns. Their horns are small and spike-like, lying so flat against the head that they are not too useful in fighting. Bush duiker females are larger than males, but they usually do not have horns.
The lifespan of a Duiker is 8-11 years. They are important prey for medium and large carnivores. They are solitary or a female with a lamb, they are rarely in male-female pairs. Scent-marks are produced by the preorbital glands and glands between the front hooves.
Duikers enjoy a varied diet.
They also eat berries and fruits that have fallen naturally, as well as those dropped by monkeys, but most of their diet consists of foliage from bushes and trees. On occasion, they may eat insects, lizards, birds, and rodents.
19 species of small, shy antelope. They live in most of Africa but are rarely seen by humans. The gray, or bush, duiker (Sylvicapra grimmia) has long legs and lives where there is bush or grass cover.
