Today I went on a walk around Chestnut Hill Reservoir, and it is my first time actually taking a walk there. I went there around 7pm, and the weather was good because it was evening so it wasn't too hot. I saw many plants during my walk. I was expected to see many animals on the pond like geese and swans, but there was only a few on the lake. My first observation is this little white flower named Horseradish. As you can see in my picture, there was one stem growing really tall, compared to others. I was wondering why this happened. Maybe this one absorbed more nutrients from the soil. But the leaves below the flower were falling and turning yellow, so I assumed the flowers took more nutrients than the leave did. My second observation of plants is the one named Tobaccos. This one was also really interesting because at first I thought these were withered flowers, but as I got closer, I found there were actually leaves, but with some red color on the top of the leaves. The whole shape of the leaves were interesting as well. My third observation of plants is Northern Whitecedar. This was a really common plants you could find next to a pond/reservoir. They were really tall and huge, and as I got closer I could see some flowers that haven't blossom. The leaves made me think of the mimosa plant, but in a bigger version. It felt nice walking along the reservoir to see the contrasts of color - blue and green, which was really soothing. I've seen many plants in different shapes and sizes. In addition, I didn't take many pictures about insects but I did notice that more insects were out because of the warm weather.

Since the shuttle is off during summer, I walk to gym everyday. I tried to walk slowly because I just finished dinner and wanted to digest fully before working out. The walk from my house to gym is around 30 mins. I left the house around 7:30pm, and the weather is good, around 18°C, because it is almost evening. I'm always surprised by the sky because it is still very bright in the evening and sun hasn't goes down. When I was near the St. Thomas building, I found these really pretty flowers and they catches my eyes immediately because of the colors. There weren't a lot of other plants around the building, and besides the green grass, the pink and white color made me feel soothing and refreshing. There were still some flowers that have not bloomed, which was interesting to me because I would want to know more about factors that made flowers bloom. I didn't see many animals there, but I could heard birds' sound and saw they flew above me. There were some falling leaves on the ground, and their color are grayish brown. The color of the soil contrasts with the color of the flowers. I didn't see any fungi, and I guess its because the condition of soil was not good for fungi to grow. There were a few insects crawling in the ground but I walked away quickly because I was really afraid of insects. There weren't any moss and I was confused because since it was rainy a few days ago I thought there would be some. Taking a walk in a nice weather is always comfortable, and this is a good start for the weekend I believe!
