Western New York, Livingston County. Found in flat area near other trees, specifically Red Oaks. Bark was a brown-gray color with signs of cracking and peeling. The underside of the bark is a brown-red color.

This tree stuck out due to the strange ring like damage (?) to the trunk. This area has black ash but I convinced myself later it was probably beech. I saw many beech in area that had bark disease. Im not sure what it truly is at this point…
