I consider myself a wildlife ecologist and am passionate about all things involving the outdoors and field science. My focus is on reptiles and amphibians (herpetology) and both my Masters and Doctorate focused on the timber rattlesnake as a research animal.

I enjoy traveling the world in pursuit of great vistas and awesome organisms and have been to 35 countries and 49 states and hope to go to even more. I teach most field-based classes at Southern Wesleyan University and even do a summer study away program where students can get 4 hours of elective biology credit. Past trips have included the following National Parks: Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Saguaro, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Organ Pipe Cactus, White Sands, and many other national forests, state parks, and other ecologically diverse areas.
