Congratulations once more to Jonathan Mark Birch @jonathanmarkbirch for not just being the top contributor in this project for 2024 but being the only contributor for the first quarter of the year with a 51 observations and 39 species recorded.

The City Nature Challenge 2024 is our next citizen science event (26-29 April 2024), where participants using the iNaturalist app are given the opportunity to showcase their city’s biodiversity to the world. We are inviting you to participate in the event and see who can make the most observations within this project.

It's been 6 months since students have received iNaturalist training.
The project has 982 observations made of 307 species across North West province.
16 of 26 students in the project have participated thus far.

Most species @kgahliso with 67 species, followed closely behind by @anje with 66 species
Most observed species: Gleditsia triacanthos

June - August: No observations made over 3 months!

August:
Congrats @samisha on contributing 17 observations of 8 species and being the only student to have contributed for the month.

Congrats to @kwakhanya on being the top contributor in the NWU PLKS class - 30 observations of 15 species.
