Do you have any way to account for the fact that, while we are working to reduce the species-level pile, other diligent identifiers are working simultaneously to increase it? For example, overnight Ryan Sorrells did a great job of working through the backlog of genus-level Polygonatum observations in New England, and moved at least dozens, probably hundreds of them, to species level. We are all working toward the same goal, but I wonder whether you have any way of sorting out the statistics?
@tsn, if there's a way to account for the number of observations added, I don't know how to do that. I think it might involve fancy API queries, downloading the results, and then crunching everything in Excel, and unfortunately that's beyond me. When I set up this project, I asked people who set up the global Unknowns ID project a few months ago, and I believe that's the answer I got. Sorry!
@tsn, actually, I might be able to approximate numbers by looking at how the overall pile of Needs ID plants changed, because I did note that number at the beginning of this marathon. Right now (7:45 AM), the overall number stands at 588,174, a decrease of 1,761 observations from when we started last night.

the project isn't loading properly for me. I click the link in Lynn's email and the whole world opens. I click on my own page into the project and only get 7 observations. Weird.
