Single adult individual located on a tree of heaven sapling. An established SLF population was confirmed in our county at a location approx. 1 mile away earlier this summer. I-DNR has begun insecticide treatments on suspected host trees.

3 prey fully swallowed; however when the eater finally left it looked and moved more normal

4/5 a roadrunner came over and sized up the feast; but I couldnt stand to lose two snakes in one afternoon so I opened the window and pounded on the wall, and it left. No good options.

~1 cm body. Had reddish color eyes, front four legs, and long antennae. Back legs were mostly black except for lower tibiae which were reddish. The dorsal thorax and abdomen were black with a white broken band across width of mid-dorsal just above green membranous wings. On a California barrel cactus.
