body: 98 mm, tail: 79 mm; hind foot: 20 mm; ear: 15 mm. captured in kitchen
We heard a loud scrabbling in the ceiling for several seconds and then this mouse fell out, dropped about 15 feet and landed in a bouquet of fake flowers.
Big black eyes and round ears. Very cute
Finally figured it was time to evict the wood rat family and this adult female was first to walk into the trap. Drove a ways down the road and released her into the forest. Didn’t get one last night. If past experience serves there will be at least two and likely three others. Yes, of course I will try to plug up the likely entry where two parts of the house come together after I am sure they have all been relocated.
This is actually Ratty #3, a Youngish male.
This is Ratty #2, a pregnant female.
