Emerged from stem with gall - https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/207038133
Reared from Juncus marginatus; identity of the insect host is uncertain. CSE2609.
~2 mm body w/o antennae. Prepectus visible. Fore and mid legs yellow with a long white spine on mid tarsi with 4 tarsi white and the 5th dark. Had black hind legs except for lighter tibia near femur joint and light color first 4 tarsi of 5. Wings, longer than body, appeared to have some shading or wing spot at small stigma area. Had dense white setae/bronze sheen on mesosoma excluding scutellum. Had 6 feathery flagellomeres plus a fused club (possibly 3 segments), elongated elbowed scape, and pedicel. Mesopleuron appeared blue in color in several photos. AI was "pretty sure" this was Tetracneminae subfamily. Was found floating on the surface of rainwater in a bucket with an outside temperate of 72 degrees F. Similar to images of Copidosoma of Encyrtinae subfamily. Needs expert review.
Size approx 1.5mm.
Maybe Pirenidae family? (The ALA are still using the old family name of Pteromalidae with the subfamily Pireninae.)
