Subfusiform, smooth.
Excipular surface: fuzzy or warty terminal cells in a contorted mess.
Habitat: Growing off decaying wood in a Populus, Pinus, Abies dominated forest.
Ascocarps up to 3 mm in diameter. Paraphyses 35 - 40 µm long with apices enlarged to 3 µm wide. Asci 32 - 42 µm long x up to 3.5 - 4 µm wide. Spores C-shaped, about 1 x 3 - 4 µm, with dorsal warts. Growing on the cut end of a decaying log.
