Dehydrated all specimens thoroughly and bagged for herbarium collection/genetic record.
Burn site Morchella. Controlled burn from Summer of 2020 above sand ridge trailhead. Dehydrated a halved fruiting body and bagged for herbarium collection for sequencing. Although this collection do have vertically arranged/ladder like pits, the pink cast/coloration and curved cap margin are not indicative of M. importuna. Plan to have sequencing performed in the future.
