Accidentally snagged in the anal fin while bottom fishing for suckers.
Caught on a small piece of nightcrawler on a small hook. In spawning condition (note tubercles), but no spawning observed.
Caught sightfishing with a small piece of Wonderbread.
I had gone to this pond 3-4 times to carp fish without issue, but my last trip I was angrily approached and told to stop fishing by a resident. There were no "No fishing" signs around this park unlike the other ponds in this area. The resident claimed that "No fishing allowed" signs had been stolen. Whether they were telling the truth or not I don't know, but I decided it wasn't worth being harassed and never returned. Location obscured.
Caught in a pond near Lake Lewisville in Texas. Measures about 1/3 of an inch. Does not resemble any fish species known to me in the area.
We reported it to the appropriate research group. I took the photo before I knew that research was being conducted. That is why only my boot was used for size comparison. It was about 100 yards east of the Drake's/Drakes Beach Visitor Center at Point Reyes National Seashore.
(iNat suggest in the Redhorse Sucker family, but I'm not sure what to look for to confirm)
Large fish carcass laying in the Etobicoke Creek. A Herring Gull had been feeding on the body a few moments before. Folded back skin looked to be a much darker colour than the face.
