Does anyone know why these plants are much smaller, have significantly more foliage and curled leaves than their text book wild sarsaparilla counterpart growing right next to them?
I love this arrangement of native species! Its so indicative of our Oak Openings region.
Wild Sarsaparilla
Canadian wild ginger
Mayapple
Wild Geranium
Tulip tree sapling
Bloodroot
I will add separate links for each observation as I can. My Internet connection is fairly weak.
