Found growing on a rotting log under native bush
Cut up log sections sitting on ground under trees. Two colour forms one pale with contrasting darkzones (photos 1 &2), and the other chestnut brown with contrasting zones (photos 3, 4 & 5). Margin of cap white above and below but the pore surface grey. There is a a dark line under the surface cuticle at the edge white edge.
I am open to this being Bjerkandera adusta because of the grey spore surface but, noting that Tramete versicolor can also be "light tan" and not just white.
Interestingly both formes have dried the same light colour.
