Live snails. brought from under Corokia shrubs for in the photo, then returned. Was named as Placostylus ambagiosus michiei
Young snails that have been broken open, presumably on an 'anvil' (rock) by song thrush. These shells are as they were found - not gathered together for a photo. This flax snail was known as Placostylus ambagiosus michiei
