As long as I can remember I have loved the native flora around me. I grew up on a farm with a grandmother that knew many of the wild edibles and medicinals that were common in our area of Southeastern Oklahoma. In college I took an elective class on plant taxonomy and I was hooked and soon I was earning my degree in Botany and working as an undergraduate research assistant for Connie Taylor, PhD during her work on her Key to the Asteraceae of Oklahoma.
If you are ever in the area and would like to hit the woods or would like someone to tag along for a hike, I am usually eager to explore new areas and would love to tag along.
