I am a professor emeritus at the Natural History Museum of Denmark. I have worked on the flora of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan since 1970, been co-editor of the Atlas of Potential Vegetation of Ethiopia (2010) and co-author of The Western Woodlands of Ethiopia (2022) and been co-editor of and contributor to the Flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea, as well as collector or co-collector on ca. 16000 collections of vascular plants of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia.
