Final Camera Update

Realized that I haven't made this announcement yet.
Sadly, I have lost the Nikon D3400 to the ocean water. For the past few weeks, my images have been taken with the Nikon D40 and are often out of focus (manual focus, no auto focus).

CAMERA UPDATE

The Nikon D300 dropped into the ocean (explained in a previous journal post), has been making a slow and steady recovery. The screen has started to flicker and turn on, so hopefully we can get images of birds and other far-away animals/close-up plants again!

The associated observation includes the final photos taken with the 7-year-old DSLR camera.

Sad News

I present sad news. Today while getting images of a cruise ship going into Plymouth Harbor for the first time, I slipped on a jetty into the ocean, breaking my old, trusty Nikon D3400. Good-quality images will be on a short hiatus until I get a different camera working.

Shorebirds/Seabirds

As a group I have always been interested in, shorebirds and seabirds are some of the most interesting species I have seen. Though there are similarities throughout every bird, the subtle differences in shape or color are always fun to observe and look at! I have associated some of my recent observations with these just for everyone to take a moment to appreciate how beautiful they are. My pictures might not be the best, but look at what others have taken!! Thanks.
