Hello!
I'm Miles. I'm a professional horticulturist, hobbyist beekeeper, and member of the Milwaukee Bonsai Society. I've loved nature since I was a child, but my passion began to take root when I volunteered for WWOOF shortly after finishing high school.
Eventually, I began studying horticulture at a local community college and that is where my passion truly began to snowball.

Some of my favorite classes there were my native plant classes. Each class period, we would meet at a different location and discuss the native plant communities that were found in that environment. This is where I learned more about sustainable practices, the important and subtle interactions between flora and fauna, and how to ID a myriad of WI native plants.

Trees and other woody plants are what I know the most about, but I love learning about all types of plant material.

This year, I am working on co-founding Wisconsin Pollinator Watch, a community-driven initiative that strives to document, protect, and celebrate the diverse pollinators in our great state.

Feel free to connect, share your observations, and contribute to the growing tapestry of knowledge of INaturalist.
