I entered the park on the West Side of Manhattan and my end goal was to walk to the East side entrance. It was a warm and sunny afternoon and perfect weather to enjoy the park. I was in the park for approximately an hour. Along the way, I saw many breeds of dogs walking alongside their families. My first observation came when I passed some flat and pointy rocks in a small pond that had green algae growing on them. I could see the algae also thriving in the water. Around the midway point of my walk, I saw some pretty pink flowers (flowering plants) growing by the Bethesda fountain. Then I went down a path, that let me get a closer look at the lake nearby. I was able to capture some turtles basking in the sun on a rock above the water. As I continued to make my way to the East side exit, I saw more flowers that belonged in the angiosperms branch such as cherry blossoms and other trees blossoming in the distance. As I got closer I was able to capture the delicate beauty of the cherry blossoms as they swayed gently in the wind. Overall, I really enjoyed my time making observations in the park. Next time I return, maybe I'll stay fixed in one area of the park, in order to get a closer look at some of the organisms that inhabit that area and what ecosystems exist there.
This is a screen capture of a video I took of the cherry blossoms as they gently moved in the wind.
